Hello! I’m Luke, a composer/producer based in Austin, TX. I love creating music that gets people to feel things. Whether it be excitement, calmness, intensity, sadness, nostalgia, etc… Music can tap into emotions that would otherwise be buried deep under our spiraling thoughts and daily routines.
I take pride in my ability to score meaningful music, rhythms and melodies, to enhance any visual artwork - be it a film, documentary, animation or YouTube video. I also enjoy working with other artists and musicians, helping them enhance their music at any point in their process - whether it’s in the early stages of songwriting and composing, or the final touches of mixing and mastering.

This project started in 2018. The artist name is really just wordplay on my name Luke (Duke) Despain (of Spain). I’m not actually from Spain, nor do I speak much Spanish - but hey, I’m a fan of silly puns and my wife thought it cool, so it sticks!
With this project, I just release whatever music I want - there is no real agenda, no specific genre I’m trying to stay within. Just plain old music-making for the fun of it. Catch and release 🎣
